Helm is currently on top of a hill in France running a fortified holiday camp.

(www.lagarde.org) He has little apptitude for the work however, and will shortly be returning to England to continue with Art.

His recent works include illustrating a children’s book written by actress Jessica Stevenson (Shaun of the Dead, Spaced, Royle Family) should be out sometime 2008.

He also does the drawings for yummy mummy’s club ‘Maggie & Rose’ in London’s fashionable Kensington region.(www.maggieandrose.com)

This helps finance his more self indulgent drawing/writing projects, such as his’ Serge Bird’s absurd birds book, and the collected everyday familiar things of Britain book, which continue not to be fought over by leading London publishing houses, despite his agent’s minimal efforts.

The paintings on glass continue to be available from the Forster Gallery

(www.forstergallery.com) the paintings on his site are mostly sold and the prices out of date.

Helm’s cartoons have started appearing in the nation’s papers. The Spectator published a good one in February and in September Private Eye took 3 in October.

There will an exhibition of paintings next year, and an exciting stone carving will also be revealed, which is exciting.

BEST THING... eating bag of mini jam doughnuts in French market

WORSE THING .... tripped over a rock in the dark
